Tonight was family movie night!  The girls love this tradition.  We have treats and snuggle up on the couch and watch something from redbox.  Tonight, though, we bought Big Hero 6, which is a super cute movie.  The girls especially like Baymax's fist bump.  They are a sweet little crowd to watch a movie with!  (Although a little squirmy!)

So, occasionally I let the girls brush my hair and then they get to stay up a little longer.  It's a time honored tradition in the Wilding family.  My mom loved it and would do the same thing with me.  Just carrying it on.  ;)  And hey, that's good time for me to work on this blog!!

Chuck E Cheese!

The day of the Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party finally came!

Mac was super excited about her piggy cupcakes.
The party package includes tokens to give to the kids so they can play the games.

There are little mini 'rides' and games.  I think I used up a whole ton of tokens on skeeball.  It's my favorite!

The kids got pizza and lemonade to eat.

Mac got to go in the ticket hurricane, where she tried to catch as many tickets as she could.

The kids sang to her and she got to blow out the candles.

Finally present time!

It was SUCH a zoo.  There were probably 5 or 6 parties going on at the same time, kids everywhere, and the mindless noise that just comes with Chuck E Cheese.  I was so glad when it was over.  Mac had a great time, though, and that was the goal.  I think her birthday celebrations are officially over, now!

Piggies!

Next up on the Mac birthday docket is her friend party!  It will be at Chuck E Cheese this year, which I may live to regret!  They do everything for me, but Mac wanted piggy cupcakes.  She authorized these cute little ones, so I was up late tonight putting them together for tomorrow's party!

They are actually REALLY cute.  Tomorrow should be fun for the little Mac attack!

Some More Birthday!

I am feeling MUCH better today, and we did Mac's Birthday breakfast this morning.  Somehow I didn't get any pictures...I'm not sure how that happened, but here we are.  I found myself with some kid-free time this afternoon, so I headed to the range for some needed practice!

Today was a pretty good day.  I know so little of technique...I mainly just fiddle around and try to hit the spot I'm aiming for.  I should probably try and get some pointers or some tutelage from someone who knows what they're doing, but I threw down 100 rounds, and did pretty well!

I definitely swing to my left.  I'm sure there's a reason, and a way to correct it, just not sure what it is!

We headed up to Grandmere's house this evening for belated birthday festivities.  Leiden and I relaxed on the couch for a bit before dinner.  Silly girl.  She's having some trouble this last week or two with both of her sisters having birthdays.  I know it must seem that everyone but her is getting presents and having celebrations.  It seems worse this year than in years past, but hopefully when her birthday rolls around and she's the ONLY one getting stuff she will remember to not be so sad next February!

After a dinner of hot dogs, Mac's choice, it was present time!  She's very excited.

Leiden poked in...even all the picture taking seems to be getting to her.

Mac got some coveted Shopkins from Grandmere and Bapa, as well as some books to read!

And of course the Fin Fun Mermaid tail and swimsuit!

These are so funny.

Mac wanted a Peeps cake, so we obliged.

Grandmere was tricky and put on candles that WOULD NOT blow out!

You'd think you had them out, then they would light right back up!

We had a great time, and appreciate Grandmere and Bapa celebrating with us.  It's nice to have them close enough to hang out with them for this fun stuff!

Happy Birthday, Machara!

Happy Birthday, Machara!  I can't believe you are 7 years old!  You are such a sweet, amazing little person full of charm and charisma.  You were so excited to wake up this morning and open your presents.

And then take pictures in full birthday getup!

Yesterday afternoon I was fine one minute, then felt totally sick to my stomach the next.  I pretty much laid in bed for the rest of the day.  Leiden made dinner for the girls.  This was the first time I have thought I might actually throw up in about 9 years.  Ick.  It's something I avoid assiduously, but you can't escape it forever.  Luckily, I just FELT sick, and wasn't actually forced to race to the toilet.  Every blessing counts!  This morning I still didn't feel too hot, so poor Mac didn't get Birthday Breakfast, nor do we dare go up to Grandmere's house in case I've got a bug rather than something that just didn't agree with my tummy.  She's been very graceful and sweet about much of her birthday being postponed.

She headed out this afternoon to ride her new bike around.

What a funny little girl.

By this afternoon I was on my feet, but I sure hope to feel 100% better tomorrow!

I hope that in spite of the postponements and the delays, your birthday was amazing, Mac!

Dr. Visit

Mimi's well check, today.  She's doing great, and still a big girl.  She's about a year ahead of her age, size wise.  She is 47.25 inches tall, which is the 94th percentile, and 51.2 lbs., which is the 99th percentile.  She had to have blood taken, and while we were waiting, I asked her to show the camera the bandaid.  This was the result.  I suppose I should have seen it coming, but still hilarious!

I revised my request for something less vulgar, and decided to have her show me FIVE!

Mimi got all her kindergarten shots today, and kind of freaked out, but we muddled through.  I think she made a bigger deal of it this time than she did as a screaming little baby!

The girls are back, and we went today for manicures/pedicures, as they didn't have school.  I drew the line at both, so each girl picked one.  They get pretty expensive, but it's a fun activity to do together.  Can you guess whose toes are whose??

Happy Birthday, Miriam!

Happy Birthday, Miriam!!!!  I can't believe my baby is 5!  She is growing up so quickly and is such a sweet little girl.  She woke up to presents this morning.

She got some super presents!

We had our giant make a face pancakes for special birthday breakfast.

Leiden's party today is a Valentine tea party, so she got all dressed up and we did her hair pretty.  The girls got off to school with their cute little boxes.

Our disposal has been acting up, and making a terrible noise.  Not doing its job, basically.  I conquered my fears of putting my hand down in there (I'm irrationally afraid that it will turn on with my fingers in there!), and pulled out one of my piping tips.  I pulled it out yesterday and it was kind of wedged in one of the blades.  Still making a terrible noise, I figured it had somehow bent one of the blades, which made me responsible for its repair.  Sigh.  Today the plumber came, and fished around in there, and pulled THIS out!  I stuck my hand in there several times and never felt a thing!  I guess it had been pushed upwards and I never thought to check.  So.  Good news:  I didn't bend blades and therefore did not need a new disposal.  Bad news:  it took a service call to figure it out.  And said service call's fee.  Grr.  I will never buy these tiny spoons again!

Mimi came home from school super excited about her cute little love bus envelope with Valentines in it, and happy to be 5!

I thought this was an appropriate picture for the day before Valentine's, especially as the girls are going with Brad tonight for the weekend, and I'll not see them tomorrow.  Happy Valentine's Day, my little Mac!

The POlice and Valentine's Boxes

Super weird story...I got a call today, from a woman stating she was a detective with the Sandy Police Department, asking questions about a checkbook I had lost ages ago and reported to the bank.  Seriously this happened like a year ago.  The woman was asking me if I knew a lady of a certain name who they apprehended under suspicious circumstances.  She apparently had my checkbook in her possession.  I said I didn't, but she wanted to come to my house and show me some pictures to see if I recognized anyone.  Hmm.  This sounded super weird to me.  I waited a few minutes, then called the Sandy Precinct and asked to be connected with the Detective...mainly to see if she really was a detective.  She was, but I told her I would be more comfortable coming down to the precinct to see her stuff.  She agreed, and after looking at the pictures she had to show me, and verifying I did not know the woman in question, I took this ridiculous selfie in front of the building.  I tried to get the POLICE sign, but failed.  On second thought, I felt silly about a selfie in front of the precinct, so this was as good as it got.  A super strange day!

The girls have their Valentine parties tomorrow at school, and both were asked to make their own boxes.  They got right to work decorating and gussying up their boxes.  Mac was all about the tissue paper.

Leiden preferred a colorful drawn approach.

They are excited about their parties tomorrow.

Mimi will use a sack she decorated at school.
These are the cute valentines they will be handing out.
