Parties!

Today was a big day!  First up was Gavin's baptism!  It was such a nice morning to go spend watching him make such a great choice, especially knowing Leiden will be doing the same thing next week.  After the baptism we headed over to Andy and Emily's house for food and celebration.
I made the mistake of not thinking of packing play clothes soon enough to do anything about it.  So the girls played a little more quietly than they likely would have!
Congratulations, Gavin!  What a great thing you have done today!

After the lunch, we raced home to finish preparations for Leiden's friend party this afternoon!  Which included blowing up a 6 foot inflatable palm tree without the help of a pump!  The table was decorated with leis and grass skirts.

First up after the girls came...put on a grass skirt, and making their own leis!

There were silk flowers all over the place!

Mimi was happy to be surrounded by big girls.  And she liked the palm tree.

Next activity was decorating flip flops with tulle.  They turned out pretty cute--a little like slippers.

We had hawaiian pizza with fruit salad for dinner, then it was time for presents!

Cupcakes and pineapple whips for birthday dessert.

Here were all the partygoers all decked out.

It was a fun little party for the girls.  The funniest part, though?  They participated just fine with all the planned activities, but all they wanted to do was play on the plasma cars.  They would take them up the little hill on the side of the basketball court in the backyard, and go shooting down, screaming at the top of their lungs.  One of the girls lives just down the street, and her dad told us he could hear them having a great time from their house!  Maybe next year we'll have a plasma car party!
