I have invested in some maternity workout clothes, since my normal stuff simply isn't fitting.  I want to stay fit during this pregnancy, and it's already harder than before.  Getting older is no joke!

I was asked to play my violin with a vocalist for our Stake Conference adult session coming up.  This evening was practice, and Jon snapped this of me while I was playing.  It's a really beautiful rendition of a mixed Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and Joseph Smith's First Prayer.

Jon and I posed up at Uncle Mike's house this evening.  The light was pretty, and it was a good time to get a picture of us that isn't a selfie, and could show off the little baby bump!  We are getting so excited to find out what it is next month.  We are thinking girl, but we are in the minority!

This belly needs cookies!  So we stopped by a new cookie place I've been wanting to try.  They were delicious, although the sugar cookies weren't the best I've had.  The chocolate chip were the best.

Happy Birthday Leiden!

It's Miss Leiden's 13th birthday!  I can't believe I have a teenager!  She woke this morning to gifts on the table.

One of them was a requested American Girl doll wig.  I had no idea they even made these things, but OF COURSE they do.  You actually remove the hair the doll came with, and glue the new hair on.  Leiden requested a really pretty long curled wig in normal colors, which I was grateful for!  They also make them in all the colors of the rainbow!  Jon modeled for us.  She also got a white board and markers to go with it.

Later this evening we went to Grandmere and Bapa's for dinner and presents.

And many more, Miss Leiden!

Invitations

The Primary (read me as president unless I delegate to a counselor) is in charge of making the invitations for the summer ward barbecue.  I saw these darling watermelon invites on Etsy and figured it would be super easy to make my own, then scan and place lettering.  So today I set out to get them done!

It turned out really well, and I especially like the seeds!  I think they will look super cute when they are done.

The older two had an orthodontist appointment today.  Mac has had her braces off for a while, but still goes in periodically so they can assess when she will need her second set.  Not yet!  And Leiden is hopefully nearing the end of her stint with braces.  I've already told them they WILL wear their retainers!  But I think they are lucky enough that a permanent retainer is possible in their mouths, where one was not possible in mine.  No person should have to have three sets of braces, so if they get retainers, they will be required to wear them!

Eye Glasses

Now the search for glasses begins!  I had no idea, but glasses are actually different sizes and the sizes matter.  There's the size of the lens itself, the size of the bridge over the nose, and there's the length of the ear pieces.  These all combine to fit properly or not.  The idea is to have her eyes in the center of the lenses, and not have the glasses pushed too far up or not far enough up her nose.  And she wants pink, of course!  So we went to Walmart to check out their selection.  It was pretty sparse in the size she needs, and the ones they had were expensive.

But dang cute!!!  I think I'll be looking on Zenni to hopefully find a larger selection of glasses the correct size for her, because their prices are very reasonable.

Big day for Mimi!  She also got a hair cut!  Her hair grows so very quickly, and it was time to clean up the ends.

Eye Doctor

Mac wanted to try the unicorn style herself, and was pleased with using rainbow hair ties down the style.

Little Mimi has been complaining of headaches and telling me she can't see things, so we finally got in to see a doctor her pediatrician recommended.

As it turns out, Mimi is in fact FAR sighted, which is apparently somewhat rare for a child.  She needs glasses in a very mild prescription to use for reading, computer work, school work, and anything else she does up close.  She won't have to wear them often, and the doctor said she would even be fine to not wear them at all, but it might make her more comfortable.  I can't believe Meemers will be wearing glasses!

Today we went for a walk out along one of the Draper trails.  I have seen this trail in pictures for a long time, and we finally made our way out to the bridge.  It was quite warm, despite us setting out in the morning.

More of my belly is showing what seems like every day!

This evening we celebrated Thomas' third birthday at a party at his house.  He was thrilled with his gifts and all the attention!  Happy Birthday, Thomas!

Productions

This morning we went and saw Leiden's musical production.  She did great and also did a great job on her makeup!  We brought her peonies and celebrated her performance.

A few days ago, the snow cone machine stopped working!  The motor in it completely burned out.  We were super bummed out.  Jon had become accustomed to being able to have sweet icy treats after work, so he hopped online and found this heavy duty number for not very much money.  It finally came today and it does a great job, as well as being much more robust!

May the sweet icy treats continue!

Mimi called this a unicorn hair style, and was super excited to have it done for school today.  I was super excited it was pretty easy!

Tonight Jon and I offered to take Leiden and her friends out for a treat after their performance.  We went to Fizz, and there we spotted one of the advertisement posters for their show!

Art Class

The other day Leiden asked me for a copy of a picture of me.  My choice, so I printed her this one.  She has an assignment in drawing class to draw a picture of someone from a photograph.  Should be awesome to see what it looks like!

Happy Mother's Day!

The girls were super excited this morning.  Mac and Mimi had made these cute candy posters at Activity Days.  For clarity, Mimi's reads:  Mo, you are so Extra sweet!  You fill me with (Almond) Joy (m)&(m) you have Mounds of fun!  You somehow be weird but in a good (Milky) Way!  Thank you for Raisin(s) me!  Happy Mother's Day from Mimi!  I had a good laugh.  Especially at the funny grammatical error!

Mac's is sweet.  Dear Mommy, you are Extra sweet.  I love you to the Milky Way and back!  Thank you for doing Mounds of dishes.  Thank you for Raisin(s) me!  Happy Mother's Day!  Then she added extra M&Ms and an Almond Joy for good measure.

Mimi had made these fun little art sheets.  Accordion folded, if you look at them one way they are a caterpillar, if you look at them the other, there is a butterfly.

Mimi's school class had made these little folded books.

Leiden got Jon in on the fun and he got her a wood burning tool.  She made these cute little kitchen utensils with fun sayings on them.  My favorite is definitely WTF!

Jon's gift to me is still forthcoming, but very touching.  He is going to get me a magnolia tree, and plans to get one each time we have a baby!  We spent some time today looking at the different varieties and I found the one I want!  It will come soon, and the blooms will look something like this.  I am super excited.

This afternoon we went up to Grandmere and Bapa's house for dinner, and I brought my mom's favorite Chocolate Torte, and dressed it up a bit with some of her special names.

After dinner we went outside to take some pictures.  Our little growing family!

And crazy with baby bump!

These girls are my heart, and I'm so excited to add to the number of people who will call me mom.

This one is great, with real smiles and happiness from everyone.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mustang Stampede

This morning was the Mustang Stampede!  The girls look forward to this event every year, and today it was raining!  Mac intended to run the two mile course, and Mimi the one.  They all line up in their grade groups, and prepare to zoom!

After I snagged some pictures at the starting line, I quickly went down the course a bit before the race started so I could get some action shots!

Mac is apparently super speedy, because after the action shots, I didn't get back to the finish line in time to see her come in!

But I did catch Meemers.

A lovely way to get some exercise of a morning!
