Miss Zada is starting to be quite fearsome with her biting.  She attacks and gnaws on her keys like a dog worries a bone.  Watch out fingers!

Her new set of blocks came today and she enjoyed sitting with Daddy amongst the lot of them, testing as many as she could in her mouth!

Tonight was sourdough rye night!!  It took me so much longer than it should have to correctly discard and feed this starter, and finally we are here.  I felt like this rye bread was going to be awesome.  We even ordered a new enamel cast iron dutch oven to cook the rustic loaf in and tonight was its maiden voyage.  SO MUCH easier than using the real open fire type dutch oven!!

I did however, in a moment of great folly, reach out and grab the hot lid by its metal handle, immediately burning my fingers badly.  I quickly got them under cold water and then advanced to ice water to attempt to stop the pain.  I could have KICKED myself and honestly felt so foolish for such a rookie mistake!

Mac was super excited to try Dragon's Beard candy, a Chinese candy similar to candy floss or cotton candy but made by hand.  She has attempted it before but the candy didn't set up correctly.  This time worked better, but the candy was a bit too brittle.  Maybe the next time she tries it will be third time's the charm!

Jon came home to all this hubbub, but he came with little froggies!  He got two and he released them into the tank this evening.  They will be so fun to watch, and they are our tank's first living animal creatures!

The bread.  It was good.  Not AMAZING good, but good.  I honestly couldn't taste any sourdough, and the loaf didn't rise as well as I would have liked, but it was definitely delicious rye bread, and grinding the caraway turned out to be a great idea!
