Shopkins Birthday Party!

I went this morning to get the balloons for the party.  They were unwieldy in the wind, but their colors were so pretty.

The party is pretty simple...

some of the balloons have Shopkins stuff on them,

and the others had simple printed Shopkins attached to them.

Cupcakes were easy to make, and top with printed toppers.  Mac wanted chocolate cupcakes with white frosting.

Mimi wanted yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting.

We can easily accommodate both!

Our little necklace craft is all separated out, thanks to Leiden.  She labeled the little bags and filled them with the appropriate materials.

And so it began!  There were A LOT of kids over here, and there was by far only standing room around the table.

Most of them were very well behaved, and though it was chaos, I think they all had fun.  The first activity was coloring these cute little papers that folded into little shopkins buildings.  There was an ice cream parlor, a toy store, and a house to choose from.

Mac's little friend was a little bit of a show stealer in this picture, but it was still the best I got!

The presents were chaotic.  I had intended to have Mac and Mimi take turns opening, but that went out the window almost immediately with this many kids.  I was honestly lucky to be able to snap a picture of them!

At the end we went outside and took some pictures with the girls separated out.

Some silly ones, too!

What's really funny is that with Mimi's set of friends, it's difficult to tell the 'good' picture from the silly one!

Almost immediately, all the presents were opened up and gotten out.  Mimi was very intent on her new Shopkins toys.

I didn't get any pictures of the kids making the necklaces.  They needed a little more help than I thought they would, but they turned out really cute.

Aaaaand, finally the birthday celebrations are over for a couple months!  The girls were good sports waiting so long for their friend party.  Almost a month after Mimi's actual birthday.  But now it's done, and they had a good time.
