Farm Babies and the Last of the Zoo

In an earlier post I mentioned that Leiden whined a bit about not having seen the farm babies while she was in Europe. So, we remedied that last week--our zoo pass was about to run out, anyway, and we probably won't be renewing now that we live so far away.

This was how much of the afternoon was spent--me looking back to find Mac.
The requisite tractor pictures:

Petting the goats:
GIANT cows. They really are enormous.
Sorry, mommy pig, if this offends your sense of modesty, but the little pigs were darn cute, and this is what they were doing. LOVE the little tails.
Someone kindly offered to take our picture--as she put it, her youngest child is 18, and looking back, she's only in a handful of pictures. Mimi was also with us, just cooped up in the stroller. This is POTD 4/28/10:
So, the girls wanted to stay forever, so I bribed them with ice cream. (It helped that I could have some if they did...) We got to the little farm shop, and did they want ice cream? No. They wanted these enormous, disgusting suckers. They were even more expensive than the ice cream. But, the point was, unfortunately a bribe, so they got them. Then they were the objects of jealousy the whole way out of the zoo. There was one little boy who was walking back from the farm by us, and he came right--and I mean right--up into Mac's face, and said, "I want some." His mom shooed him away and we laughed, but that little kid stared at Mac the whole way back. I heard several other kids ask about suckers as we passed. And looking at this, who wouldn't want one?
Leiden wanted to run ahead, so I let her. Any running around is good at this point, being so cooped up where we live.

Fun afternoon. We love you Minnesota Zoo, but we're going to have to break up. Long distance never works.
