Another Stormy Start

Today was another stormy morning, so on the way home from swim lessons, I suggested we go home and make cookies.  The girls enthusiastically agreed, so we hauled the chairs over to the counter.  Even Mimi helped.  She is getting supremely proficient at climbing.  I find her on the table multiple times a day, to get at whatever has been left there, and it is nerve wracking.  She was probably thrilled that I let her climb on the chair to look at the mixer.  She hears the word 'no' a lot.

The evening cleared up nicely, which was good, as it was our neighborhood block party.  All over the twin cities neighborhoods get together on this night, and the fire departments or policemen come to visit.  This year was good because some other little kids came.  The girls were super excited to get in the big fire truck and sit back in the seats where the oxygen tanks rest.

Again, Mimi was just excited to have something to climb on.

Here we are!  These trucks, by the way, are awesome.  They cost somewhere in the ballpark of $250,000, and they are so cool all clean and shiny.  The girls got to see the big boots and jackets and pants the firemen wear, as well as the helmets and big flashlights they use.
