Mercedes and the Girls

Wow...big day here...I went this morning finally to get my license so I am legit here in Utah.  Took a decent picture, although really only in comparison to my last DL photo.  They always look like mug shots, and are never flattering.

Broke out the macaron silpat and attempted to make some this afternoon.  They looked pretty darn good, so I was excited to put them in the oven.

Imagine my chagrin when I opened up the oven after the time went off to find this mess!  Almost every one of them cracked, no 'feet' on them, and they were WAY overcooked.  They still tasted good, but definitely not French bakery quality.  I suppose I will try again tomorrow.  I have quite a bit of all the ingredients, so I'm not going to let this get me down!
