Trapeze School!

Finally!  Today was the Trapeze class!  The girls have been so excited.  We got there, and they very first got them all harnessed up, then had them do some things on a bar close to the ground.

Then they literally jumped right in.  This ladder was enormous, and they climbed up with no hesitation at all.  Here's a sequence of Mimi.  They would yell out commands that the girls had to follow, and there was a guy on the floor belaying their harnesses.  So much trust put into people they don't know!

It was exhilarating to watch!  Mimi had a little trouble dismounting.  Her legs were supposed to come down off the bar in front of her, but she kept back flipping off the bar, which is not how it should be.  I had to keep reminding myself she is very young, but in a much older body.

Little Mac was a natural!  She is very athletic, little body just built for sports and exertion.

She did great the whole way through.  She followed all the commands really well, and just generally showed a great aptitude.

Leiden did great.  I thought she might get a little spooked up there so high, but she didn't at all.  It was so fun to see them flying through the air.

Leiden also listened really well to the commands, and achieved all the goals for trying a catch sequence with someone on the opposite bar.

They enjoyed watching the others almost as much as doing the trapeze itself!

Because Grandmere and Bapa were the givers of the gift, they were super excited to come and see the girls do their tricks!

At the end of the 2 hour class, the girls got to try a catch sequence.  Mimi hadn't mastered the skills necessary, so they had her try and be caught a different way, which I appreciated.  The staff was really good with the kids.

These are stills taken from video, so they are blurry, but show what the girls were able to do at the end.  Mac got it on her third try, and was grabbed by the guy.  It's pretty crazy, though.  They get grabbed on their arms, and pretty much yanked off their bar.  Both Leiden and Mac were saying their arms hurt from where he grabbed them.  Occupational hazard, I guess!

It was a blast to watch them succeed.  I have thoughts of maybe trying it sometime, but I might have to psych myself up!

They really were cute with the girls, especially Mimi, who is super cute herself!

The class session consisted of my three girls and two other girls that were related somehow.  All of them did such a good job!
