Coming Home!

Well, again, the night doesn't bear even talking about!  We are so tired, and the utter lack of sleep from the first night caught up with Jon and he has just been laid out flat.

She is remarkably alert, especially in the morning, and full of cute movements and facial expressions.

We waited around for quite a while for the discharge work to be done, twiddling our thumbs and wanting to just get on with it.

Daddy loves to hold her, and she loves to be held by Daddy!

The pediatrician came in to do the final eval for discharge, and said he RARELY sees a baby be discharged at the low rate of weight loss Zada has had.  Born at 7 lbs 7 oz, today at discharge she weighed 7 lbs 3 oz.  She has only lost 3% of her birth weight, and the ped is happy when it hovers around 10%.  This makes sense as she has been a voracious nurser.  This bodes well for her!  He wants to see her next Monday to check her for jaundice, and it will be interesting to see what her weight is in a few days!  We really like this pediatrician, and think we will make him ours for all the girls.

Here we just had her in a diaper or the little shirt they give you, but for going home we put her in the smallest outfit we had, and it still looks completely enormous!

She doesn't look so tiny in the carseat when the camera is zoomed in,

But she is tiny in it!!

Our new little family, leaving the hospital.  My word she is so tiny.

We made it to the car, and headed home!

We got home, and went to put her in her room to sleep, and found that it had been organized and gotten ready for us.

Leiden had made this sign for Zada,

and put together this little bouquet in a jar for her room.  I have hormones coursing through me at an alarming rate, so of course this all made me cry.  Their little lives are changing, and while it is a wonderful change, it will still have its challenging moments and difficult adjustments.

Finally home feels good, though.  Now it's time to start settling in!

The girls came home from school and it was a welcome home for our whole family.
