4 Days Before First Grade OR The Minnesota State Fair!

We got there right in time to see the hand milking demonstration at the Moo Booth.  Surprisingly enough, they were letting kids (and adults) try it out.  Wow.  Both Mac and Leiden wanted to.

They each got a chocolate milk for their trouble, and a little ribbon.

Next stop was a few minutes at the rodeo, where Mimi was ABSOLUTELY thrilled at the horses.  She screeched 'naaaaaay' as loud as she could.  This was her face when she looked down on the floor!  We also got to watch 6 crazy men/boys try and get the infamous 8 seconds on a bucking bronco.  It's the most dangerous 8 seconds in sports for a reason.  I thought for sure some of those guys weren't going to get up after the bull jumped on them.

The girls had been promised cotton candy, and it was such a big stick of it that it obscures Mac's head.

Next up was rides.  The older girls enjoyed a ride on the bumper boats.  Mimi looked on rather forlornly.  If we had put her on a boat, she would have jumped into the water.  She made do with putting her arms in from the side.

She went on the swings, and she really liked it, although she looked a little green.  It must have been a trick of the light, because when Brad got her off at the end she screamed to get back on.

And a last hurrah for Leiden!  What a fun day spent at the fair!

Poor little Mimi didn't get a nap today--as in NO sleeping during the day today.  I was worried it would be disastrous, but she did a great job.  A little whining, but she did great.  We had a good time.  Mac, of course, fell on the long way to the car, and that started a meltdown.  Brad did not get his corndog, and we had to wrestle with Mac all the way to the car.  In her defense, she was not feeling well, yesterday, with a 104 degree temperature, but today she was back down to normal temp, but still a little whiny.  Not sure what was wrong, but hopefully we're getting back to normal now.
