Summer is Coming!

Today was Field Day at the elementary!  I volunteered to go and run an activity for the Kindergarten classes.  I ran a balloon station!

The kids were to go from a starting point to a specified spot with the balloon either between their heads or between their tummies.  It was pretty fun, but the morning wore on hot, so the further we went into the rotations, the more tired and less motivated the kids were.   

Popsicles seemed to perk everyone up, and then the fun time was over. 

Straight from Afghanistan, Derek took a picture directly upon receiving the summer care package...I still can't believe how quickly the packages get there! 

He was particularly excited about his picnic in a box...he sent this picture.  I joked back to him that as long as he has his salami, cheese, and a couple 9mm clips, he was set.  :)  He agreed.
