Final Happy Birthday!

We celebrated my birthday this evening, with my parents.  Derek gave some gifts to my mom, and we had cake!  He was SO wise, and convinced me last night to buy a cake instead of making one from scratch, and I am so grateful!  It was delicious and I didn't have to make it!

Here I am, the birthday girl, in the final celebration, wearing jewelry and the scarf Derek gave me from Afghanistan. 

Again, slow on the uptake, but tonight we started our Thankful Tree, as well, with all the guests of the evening contributing a leaf to the tree we will fill over the month.
