Today was a really great day. The school had its Meet the Teacher scheduled for the 1-5 grades, and I planned a Back to School themed dinner for us and Grandmere and Bapa, so we could fulfill Mimi's activity for the day!
Leiden was thrilled to find her name written in beautiful cursive in her classroom.
She is VERY excited about her teacher this year, Mrs. Casperson. She jumped for joy (literally) when she found out her teacher. She's great for kids...super bubbly personality, that flair of drama that kids like. She should be a pretty awesome teacher for Leiden this year!
Miss Mac has Mrs. Jensen this year. She is excited, but doesn't know as much about her.
Our family theme for the school year comes from Matthew 5:16. I introduced the theme to the girls, and we talked about how to let our light shine in ways that Heavenly Father would be pleased at school and at home.
I went with a chalkboard and bright yellow color scheme. I LOVE the sunflowers, and we talked about how flowers turn towards the sunlight and follow the sun across the sky, and how we can be like the sun when our light shines. We can be examples to those around us as they watch us.
It all turned out really cute, and Bapa was able to give all the girls their back to school blessings because Mac and Leiden start TOMORROW!
