Easter Weekend Begins

We had a fun beginning to Easter weekend!  Today started with dying eggs!  Every year I want to hard boil and then dye some ridiculous number of eggs...like 100.  Then I could make each one beautiful and try a bunch of different techniques for coloring.  But then what would I do with 100 hard boiled eggs??

So the fact of the matter is...we only dye around 18.  :(  And some STILL go to waste!

Luckily the girls don't mind as long as they get equal numbers of eggs!

Jon and I took the couple that were left over (generally the cracked ones!), and tried our hand at it.

Then this afternoon we got the slack line out and tried to find balance!  Jon had brought his ratchets so we could tighten it as much as possible.

The girls really like it.  I think they would get a lot better if they did it more often.  Unfortunately, it can't just be left up, so it's a bit of a production to get it out each time.

It seems like it would be so simple...but it's much harder than just a skinny walk way.  It shimmies and shakes back and forth, making balance truly a feat!

We headed outside to enjoy dinner tonight.  With this gorgeous weather, inside just wasn't going to do.

Growing up, Jon's family would decorate their own Easter Baskets on Saturday evening.  I loved this idea, and wanted to integrate some of the traditions from Jon's family, so I delved into the craft room and found a bunch of stuff they could decorate with, and found them cheap wicker baskets.

They were excited about the new tradition, too.

We had a rough day with Mac, and we aren't quite sure how to best help her.  We think she would benefit from talking to a therapist, so I think that's coming up on the docket.  It's stressful and overwhelming for me, but she needs more help than I can give her alone.  So I will choose to focus on the positive, and feel hopeful that she can be helped.
