August

August started out pretty hairy around here. Everyone was a little down, with colds going through the house.

Miriam 8/1/10: Watching a Baby Einstein

POTD 8/1/10: As part of a reward for purchasing something, we got a bunch of Omaha Steak Company meat. So, chicken on the BBQ courtesy of our new

Miriam 8/2/10: Mimi is really pushing up on her arms these days, but still not crawling. When we bend her legs under her, she just pitches forward.

POTD 8/2/10: Mac is finally going to be sleeping in a big girl bed. We didn't want to get her a twin yet, so we got her a toddler bed. She was very excited and very helpful putting it together. We'll see how the maiden sleep goes.

So, the colds are raging through our house with the kids, and things were looking up, until this. POTD 8/3/10: Do you see this face? That's one sick girl. Not interested in eating, pretty interested in sleeping. The first night she slept in her new bed, she developed a cough, which kept me up the entire night, although she seemed to sleep okay.

Miriam 8/3/10:

In an attempt to get some calories in Mac, as she wasn't interested in eating, we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream. These are the scary pics:

And the sweet pics:

In spite of the lure of ice cream, Mac left this much of it behind when we left. She really must not have been feeling well.

POTD 8/4/10: We went to the doctor today, as Mac's eye still wasn't better, and the night before this she had a fever all night and the cough was worse. She has viral pinkeye, which means a very contagious condition with no treatment options. Awesome. The fever finally broke this morning, and she seemed in better spirits.

Miriam 8/4/10:
Miriam 8/5/10: She's pivoting around in a circle like nobody's business these days, so things that I think are safe, are no longer safe!
POTD 8/5/10: We registered Leiden for Kindergarten today. Holy smokes this will be super weird. She'll be attending Zachary Lane Elementary and will probably be in the PM Kindergarten class.
