Capitol Field Trip

Mimi is seriously just the cutest.  She grabbed one of the Christmas pillows and put it on her bed.  She has a mind of her own, and lots of ideas that are so sweet.

Looks like Snowbell was having a fun night!

This morning I had the opportunity to go with Mac on her grade field trip.

We got to get all dressed up and visit the State Capitol, and then go to Capitol Theater to see a scene of the Nutcracker!

We got to tour the Capitol building and see a lot of the rooms where the lawmakers do their thing.  It really is a beautiful building with all of its marble and gold.

After the tour, we ate lunch in a hall off the rotunda, and got ready to go see the Nutcracker!

I was in charge of Mac and two of her classmates.  They were cute little kids.

I was so excited for this part, because seats are expensive for the whole production, as well as me not being confident the girls would sit for the whole thing.

It was just right!  We got to see the ballerinas and the grand to do of the stage and yet it wasn't too long to lose the attention of 3rd graders.  We had a great time.  Mac was very excited to be able to spend the time and have me there as well.  It's really fun to go with the kids and see them in a different element than at home.
