Grandmere's Stay

POTD 9/20/10: Grandmere came in today, and the girls have been so excited. We love to have visitors, and we get them so rarely. Yay for Grandmere!

Miriam 9/20/10: Mimi got a fun little diversion when we blew up the aerobed (that promptly went flat) under her. I don't think she knew what to make of it.

POTD 9/23/10: Mac has been really interested in playing with her dolly these days. She wanted a show turned on for her, and she put her in the high chair (where we put Mimi for shows) and then she sat down to watch with her. She also enjoys pretending to feed her, which entails getting baby food out of the cupboard, a baby spoon from the drawer, and a bib from the basket. I find baby food all over the house, and my only thought is, "Thank heavens she is unable to open the jars!"

Miriam 9/23/10: Mimi took a bit to warm up to Grandmere, but it was only a matter of hours the first day. Then she loved to be held by her!

Miriam 9/24/10: Of course my mom bought out Naartjie again, so all the girls have new duds.

POTD 9/24/10: We wanted to take the kids out for dinner with Grandmere, but the wait was too long at the restaurant we wanted to go to, and then there were NO seats at Five Guys. So we brought it home.

POTD 9/26/10: Today was the Primary Program, and Leiden was so sweet up on the stand. She knew most of the words to the songs, and spoke loudly enough to hear for her part.

Miriam 9/26/10: Our front door has beveled glass panels in a diamond pattern, so in the late afternoon/early evening, it casts rainbows. As the sun moves in the sky, it casts them in different spots. Today it was on the highchair.

We were sad to see Grandmere go, and we really did nothing super fun while she was here. Usually I am able to rustle up some activities, but this half day kindergarten thing, when added to naps for two children at two different times of the day, makes for a choppy day. But the kids loved having her here, and we were happy to spend time with Grandmere!
