The Orchard

On October 8, we took a trip with some friends to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch. It was fun, but not as good a place as we went to last year. The girls, of course, don't care! Mac loves the baby swings. I'm torn between knowing she's safer in it, and hating having to stick right by her to get her in and out! --Not to mention all the little tiny kids who are always waiting with their moms to use it.

We went on a little hay ride.

The kids spotted the apple trees!

Miriam 10/8/10: Mimi is just so heavy. So, I set her down on the floor by the cash register at the little apple barn while I grabbed some donuts and cider.

And then I set her on the grass outside while the girls drank their cider.

It was really good cider.

The orchard had a large area for kids to play, and Leiden liked the little play train.

You could only get pumpkins here at the apple barn--no going out into the patch to get your own, so we checked them out. They were more expensive there at the orchard than you can get them at the grocery store, so we only got one.
