Gymnastics Birthday Party!!

This morning was another fun reveal of our news!  We asked Mad and Joni if we could meet them somewhere for breakfast, and we presented them with this card:
They are so excited!  Madison teared up and got pretty emotional.  They have seen me go through a lot, and this is very good news.

Later this afternoon, FINALLY, it was Mac's gymnastics birthday party!  The girls she invited seemed to have a blast, which is always a good thing.  Many of her friends attend gymnastics themselves, and they were very excited to spend two hours doing all the gymnastics things!

Even Leiden and Mimi got in on the fun, even though they aren't super interested in gymnastics.  The rings over the foam pit were a hit!  This gym is a lot newer than Mac's actual gym where she attends, and the guy gymnast who was in charge of the party was really great with the kids.  I think he was surprised to see Mac and so many other girls who actually have some skill.  When he saw they weren't just kids who's never been in a gym he allowed them some freedoms and license that normally isn't extended for their birthday parties, which was pretty exciting for Mac.

Mac's cake turned out pretty fun.  She wanted a watercolor cake, and my first effort at such a cake wasn't too bad.  Her glittery name topper turned out pretty great, too.

We had little gym bags ready for favors, with water bottles, gymnastics hair ties, stickers, stamps, and little things.

It was honestly s chore to get the girls to come out of the gym area for cake, ice cream, and presents!

We did finally get them out and we sang to sweet Mac.

She was all smiles and blew out her candles with gusto!

She loved all the kind gifts her friends gave her,

and enjoyed eating cake and ice cream as quickly as possible so they could go back out into the gym!

This afternoon we were shot, even though we really just had to show up to the gym.  Jon took a nap on the couch, and Mimi helped him be super cozy with her unicorn and blanket.  So sweet!

I think the party was a grand success, and I'm glad Mac had a wonderful time.  She was very patient waiting for her turn to celebrate, and I'm proud of her.
