Today was Mac's first gymnastics meet! We had no idea what to expect, so we just showed up. I brought all three other girls and Jon, and we probably won't do that again! They last for HOURS, and to see Mac compete for a few brief minutes you also have to watch all the other girls from all the other gyms do their routines as well!
Nevertheless, Mac was so excited to compete!
The gym the meet was held at was packed full of people, and there were girls everywhere. I had no idea it was such a big event with so many gyms participating.
It was kind of harried, with baby there and not used to the noise or the late hour, so I only caught Mac's beam routine.
Shortly thereafter, baby just wasn't having it anymore, so we had to go.
Her dad stayed to bring her home at the end, and reported that she did SO WELL!! She got 1st place on bars, 4th on beam, 10th on vault and floor, and 5th overall! It's hard to see, but look at that face!
Her gym also placed 1st overall for the meet.
I am so glad her first competition experience was a good one. She was nervous but did great! It will be fun to see how the other competitions go!
