Happy
Valentine's Day! Today Mac wanted a Valentine's hairstyle, so we made a heart
braid. I think it turned out pretty cute. One thing the girls have definitely
gotten good at doing since baby came is doing their own hair in the morning. It's been really nice to have them handle that.
Both Mac and Mimi took their
homemade valentine boxes to school today for their Valentine party. Mimi of
course made a unicorn, much like last year. She did it entirely herself. Mac wanted to do a volcano Valentine box, and she made that mostly when she was
with her dad last.
Both
Mac and Mimi had to completed all of their little basket Valentine's, and put
candy in them and bagged them. They were
ready!
While
the girls were at school, Zada and I had much work to do to prepare for a
Valentine's dinner. First off we went to
get Jon Valentine donuts from Banbury Cross, his favourite. Then we went to home Depot to find some cute
little succulents and pots for the girls.
Zada was especially cheerful today.
We
got home, and Zada went down for a nap while I worked. I painted the little
pots pink, and potted the succulents in them, finishing them off with cute
little tags. Even Zada got a little gift
from me!
The
girls were super excited when they got home to go through their hauls. Candy galore!
Dinner
was fun to prepare. I made heart biscuits with arrows, heart-shaped cucumber
slices, and a heart Pizza with heart pepperoni!
I had decorated the room and the table to be very festive.
We
sat down together and had family dinner and it was really fun to celebrate.
After dinner Jon's gift to the girls was making and decorating a giant heart
cookie.
What a happy day to celebrate love!
