Smokin' Hot!

The missionaries came for dinner tonight, and Brad deemed it the day to try the smoker out!  He put a rub on the beef brisket last night, and worked this morning on seasoning the smoker.

The beef tasted excellent, although it was just this side of too chewy.  We think next time we'll try cooking it even lower and even slower.  The missionaries were super pleased to be our smoker guinea pigs and offered their services in that area at any time.

Because Brad was outside on the deck, Mimi spent a lot of time hovering in the sun room.  She did actually go outside for a while, since it's been unseasonably warm here.  Although looking a little straggly, it still sometimes hits me unexpectedly how beautiful she is.
