Lake Minnesuing

Last night we headed up to a cabin on Lake Minnesuing that one of Brad's friends has.  We had expected a warmer day, with the hopes that we could be in the lake, but it was darn cold!  Like 62 or something.  Brad still wanted to swim across the lake.  Here he is on the dock, trying to mentally prepare for the COLD water.

He was swimming to the opposite shore.  Melissa and Piper went with him in the kayak.

He did it!  He said it was SO cold.

The girls agreed.  They insisted on getting in the water, even though we warned them!

They were much happier playing at the shallow end of the dock with all the water toys.

See?  Swimming suits, and long pants, long sleeves, and sweaters.  It really was not warm enough to be in the water.

Brad took a turn kayaking with Piper.

The only problem with being in your clothes to play near water is you get so messy.

Mac and Leiden tried their hands at fishing.  There were tons of little fish in the lake who were skilled at pulling on your line, fooling you, and then somehow eating the worm off the hook without getting hooked themselves.

We decided a warm fire was in order this evening.  Melissa and I ran to the little grocery store and got s'mores stuff.

It was a beautiful fall evening.
