More Party!

More partay-ing today!  Dinner and celebration at my mom's house this evening.  We got a call this afternoon from her that the power was off at the house, so we braced ourselves for the chilly indoor weather, and forged ahead!  We were prepared to eat chocolate cake, come hell or high water!

The cake was for both Mac and Mimi, so we decked it out. 

Before we ever got to the cake, however, the power came back on, right during the prayer!  So we were able to enjoy our dinner with the heat coming back on, and no need to have all the candles at the table lit.  The lights actually startled us all a bit.  All our eyes were closed for the prayer, and then suddenly there was a big flash behind our eyelids.  I originally thought something had caught fire!

The girls were very pleased with the prospect of cake.  Even a shared one.  Particularly as we had a section of candles for each of them to blow out individually. 

 

Mac was up first, with her 6 candles lit.

WHAT a sweetheart. 

Annndd!...success!

Meemer is up next, with her 4. 

Also successful! 

Then came some presents from Uncle Mad and Aunt Joni.  We did this all early because I will be out of town next weekend, and this was a big dinner, anyway. 

Thanks so much, Mad and Joni!  The girls loved their gifts!
