Relaxing (or boring, depending on perspective!) summer days around here!  The girls were all home when it started to rain really hard outside, and Leiden and Mac took Zada out onto the porch to experience the rain.  I snagged a picture of them through the screen door.  You can see my pink pajamas reflecting on Leiden's back!

Jon has been watching a lot of videos on a YouTube channel called Bedtime Stories.  It tells all sorts of spooky stories that are supposedly real.  Last night, against our better judgment, we watched one on the Mothman.  Today Mimi had the great idea to make a Mothman costume.  I suppose it's her way of processing something scary!

Leiden wanted to participate too, so she transformed herself into a Wendigo.  Made the blood and all!  They were very funny.

Later this evening while Mac was at gymnastics Mimi and Leiden went outside to do chalk on the sidewalk.  Jon took Zada out to investigate and she was thrilled to be included!  She saw Mimi drawing and leaned over to pretty much yank the chalk out of Mimi's hand.

Then proceeded to try and eat it!

After Zada was in bed and Mac was at gymnastics, a crazy storm blew in.  It was raining in sheets for a few minutes, and the street flash flooded!  Leiden and Mimi went out to wade around in the water.  They wandered and told us later that the homes around the corner in our neighborhood had flooded because their driveways are lower than the street.  I vaguely remember playing in the gutter during a couple rainstorms as a kid, but it just doesn't happen here too often!
