Introducing Miss Piggle Wiggle and Miss Tickles!

Wow, big day today!  At parent teacher conferences, Leiden had the opportunity to sign up to pet sit the class pets, Miss Piggle Wiggle, and Miss Tickles.  Lovely little guinea pigs!  She has been SO excited!  I met her at her class this afternoon to help her cart the animals home in their little carrier and giant cage.  We brought them home and did as her teacher had suggested, give them floor time.  Floor time is time for the pig to be out of the cage and wandering around getting some exercise.  It was advised to do this in a bathroom, where you are both safer from stains and smells on a tile floor, and you can close the door so they can't escape!

We all crowded into the bathroom, as Mac and Mimi were just as excited as Leiden was.  The pigs wandered around for a minute, then decided they liked the far corner UNDER the vanity.  Yeah.  They wandered out every few minutes, but would scurry right back under quickly.  Then the girls got tired of this, and it was time to put them back in their cage.  Well, this can only be done if the silly things can be caught!  It took probably about another 15 minutes to catch them and get them locked back up.  Then of course, we had to clean up their leavings on the floor.  SUCH good advice to recommend the bathroom!

Here's Leiden with Miss Piggle Wiggle.  Leiden was very careful to set up their cage with water and food and bedding.  She wants a pet so badly.

I helped out a little by transporting Miss Tickles.  It also fell to me to grab the little devils when they poked their little noses out from under the vanity.  They are funny little creatures.  Much bigger than I thought.

Pet sitting was a hit!
