Magic of Reading

A couple months ago, Leiden participated in the Magic of Reading program at school.  If she read a certain number of minutes she would qualify for this fun night time activity with her schoolmates.  She had no problem at all reaching the required number of minutes--she reads every morning for at least 30 minutes, often more depending on how early she wakes up!

It was a fun evening, made even better by spending time with her friend, Nora.  Nora lives just down the street, and Leiden is trying to spend as much time as she can with her before we leave for Utah.

There were photo booths, games, crafts, magic shows, and best of all, crazy hair!  The women who had volunteered put it up, ratted it up, and colored it up!

After the activities were over, there was a finale magic show, which was actually pretty good.  The magician was funny, which helped it stay interesting for the adults, while the kids liked the tricks themselves.  All in all, it was a fun evening, and I was touched by the number of little kids who told Leiden they would miss her!
