Sickness Descends

Right after Grandma and Grandpa left, there was sickness abounding in our house! Leiden had started coming down with the cold from Brad last Saturday, so she was declining. I have honestly never seen her so sick. The problem with little children? They are constantly in each others' faces and my kids climb all over each other. Does that leave ANY chance for not getting sick? Not so much.

This picture was taken yesterday at about 5:30 PM. That's Leiden, in her bed, sleeping, at 5:30. Of her own choice. She's still running a fever today, and has a gross cough, so we went to the doctor to get her checked out. I thought she had pinkeye this morning, but the doctor thinks it was just the sinus congestion in her eyes.

She has a raging ear infection in her left ear, so that would explain the almost constant fever for 5 days. She has no appetite, and I mean like one bite and she's done. We've been plying her with chocolate milk, juice, punch, hot chocolate, the works. And we still have to force her to drink it. Hopefully the antibiotic will kick in quickly. Because...

This was Mac this morning, after being up literally every 30 minutes last night with a tummy bug. Luckily she only threw up once in the night, and no diarrhea, but she was definitely up. Every 30 minutes. I took the 10:30 to 3 AM, Brad went into her room and 'slept' on her floor for the 3:30 to 7 shift. Ugh. She looks like this, but she is not staying in bed willingly. I think she watched 4 movies today. Poor Mac.

And poor Brad, bless his heart, was watching Mac and Mimi while I took Leiden to the doctor for her illness. This would have been fine, except for the incident where Mac threw up on Mimi. Literally on her. Mac standing up with Mimi at her feet. Kablooey.

Brad stayed home today to help with the 3-ring circus, but luckily things got better as the day went on. Now I will live in fear for the next 3 days or so. I really don't like throwing up.

Oh, and did I mention that Mimi has started in with the gross cough and fever. Yep.
