Vegetables

Our little garden continues to bring forth fruit!  We had several purple tomatoes,

Some (Bug-eaten!  Grr!) greens,

And a yellow summer squash mixed in there for good measure!  We re enjoying the fresh harvest from the garden.  Although we are upset about the bugs.  It's ridiculous.  There are little caterpillars all over the greens, and they are just happily eating their way through MY veggies!  The other problem we are unfortunately seeing more of is aphids.  They are EVERYWHERE.  We finally determined that a good soak and scrub in hot water and soap is necessary to remove the vermin!

Way more exciting than vegetable harvests, though, is the good news that we have to share!  Jon and I will be getting married next month!  We have known for some time that this was a step we wanted to take, had prayed about it, and received confirmation that we are taking this step with the right person.  We have rather suddenly decided to set a date, and it will be fast!  We will be marrying at Uncle Mike and Joan's home on August 4, and we couldn't be more excited about the prospect of marriage.  We told our families today, and we will tell the girls tomorrow after they come home from their dad's.  We have had some trouble with the ring, so there are no pictures of a ring to make a big loud announcement with, and hopefully we will have at least bands to exchange at the wedding, but we are thrilled and feel a great peace about our plans with each other and the girls.
